Koolstofstaalstaaf word in plat, heks-, ronde en vierkantige voorraad by Future Metal voorsien.Koolstofstaal is ideaal vir baie industriële produkte en toepassings waar sterkte en duursaamheid vereis word.Eienskappe van koolstofstaalstawe is gebaseer op die koolstofinhoud.Verhoogde koolstofinhoud sal koolstofstaal se hardheid en sterkte verhoog.Omgekeerd lei laer koolstofinhoud tot 'n sagter (sagte) koolstofstaal wat makliker is om te masjineer en te sweis.

Die tipe koolstofstaal wat benodig word, is oor die algemeen gebaseer op die toepassingsvereistes.
Wat is die verskillende tipes koolstofstaal?
Koolstofstaal word soos volg in drie hoofgroepe verdeel:
lae koolstof = .06% tot .25% koolstofinhoud (sagte staal)
medium koolstof = .25% tot .55% koolstofinhoud (medium staal)
hoë koolstof = >.55% tot 1.00% koolstofinhoud (harde staal)
Koolstofstaalstaaf beskikbaar in verskeie grade
10XX = nie-hersulferiseerde koolstofstaal, met mangaan 1.00% maksimum (byvoorbeeld 1018, 1044, 1045 en 1050).
11XX = hersulferiseerde koolstofstaal (byvoorbeeld 1117, 1141, 11L17 en 1144).
12XX = herfosforiseerde en hersulferiseerde koolstofstaal (byvoorbeeld 12L14 en 1215).
